The Technical Rehearsal and the Show will be in full costume.
The Technical Rehearsal is the ONLY time on the STAGE before the actual performances. It is VITAL that you attend!
Dance Visions Show 2023 - ‘Mystical Magical Mayhem’

The Technical Rehearsal is an IMPORTANT rehearsal for your child and our hired professional technicians to set the sound, lighting, and special effects to match costumes, spacing and themes on the stage. This will be the only chance they get so attendance is compulsory. This will also be the only chance to practice on stage before show day.
- One parent/guardian must accompany each child to the sign in desk at the main entrance to the Sinden Theatre, where you must sign your child in with us and our staff and chaperones will collect them as a group and take them into the auditorium.
- Parents/guardians will not be permitted into the auditorium as this will spoil the show and surprise, but they will be able to wait in the foyer if you wish and we hope the bar will be open for snacks and hot drinks throughout the day.
- Once your child has finished their dance number(s) they are free to leave and will need to be collected at their last dance finish time, they must be collected from the same entrance and signed out.
- For students in multiple dance numbers, regular breaks will be scheduled and licenced/trained chaperones will be backstage supervising them. Please remember that this is the ONLY opportunity to rehearse on the REAL stage before the show, so it is vital that you attend!
What to Bring:
- Bring all costumes, accessories and dance shoes outlined on our costume page on the website under this event Mystical Magical Mayhem.
- If you are in multiple dance numbers, please bring spare clothes to change into whilst waiting.
- Please arrive with your hair and base make-up already done where possible as we have a very limited number of people able to do the hair on tech day.
- Plenty of layers to keep you warm whilst waiting (dressing gown to be worn over costumes whilst eating/drinking). Drinks (water only please)/snacks/ and a lunch bag for those who will be in the auditorium during lunchtime (NO NUTS AS WE HAVE STUDENTS WITH NUT ALLERGIES).
- Feel free to bring things to keep you occupied – however in accord with child safety, consent & rules: no mobile phones or tablets are permitted in rehearsals or any other electronics which have the capability of taking pictures or video. Please do not bring these - they will be confiscated until after the rehearsal.
- PLEASE make sure all of your child’s personal items are labelled. Please look carefully at the schedule for Technical Rehearsal and make sure you find your dance numbers/arrival times for signing in and out.
Finally, we want to thank you all for your excitement, patience and understanding during ‘show season’. There has been a huge amount of work and preparation that has gone into the show and we hope it will be a memorable experience for all of our dancers. We are so proud of you all! It’s show time!!
